3rd Watch Day

Friday was our SPG Supervisor Summer team building off-site for work. AKA - 3rd Watch Day. For those of you who are familiar with the television program "3rd Watch", our team decided to live the life of the television show and visit the Emergency services of the city of London. We named ourselves after characters and used our "show names" for the day. I was Doc. A soft spoken Doctor who goes crazy and dies in season 4. We even got matching shirts sporting our "made for television" names.

The day began with a trip to Fire Station #2 where we got to play with the lights and sirens and climb aboard the trucks.

I even got to put on the pants and boots and look pouty for the very good looking fire fighters!

The next stop was EMS. They were very busy and we witnessed many code 4's leaving the station. Atleast it wasn't a code 6 which we learned meant very, very dead. It was interesting to see the mountains of boxes of supplies housed in the basement of the building incase a disaster or outbreak strikes.

LUNCH TIME! A picnic in the park. We had so... much food and so... much egg we all layed in the sun digesting for an hour.

Following lunch came the extensive tour of the London City Police Headquarters. What saw and learned a lot more than any of us could ever have imagined. Did you know that prisoners use the same water to wash their face as they do to pee in? Did you know that I have never used so much hand sanatizer in my life as I did in those couple of hours? Did you know that the cells would be a wonderful form of dicipline for our children? It was scaring the crap out of me and I didn't even do anything wrong.

Our team ended the day with our shirts signed by all the Emergency workers we met during our day and dinner at Bertoldis. 3rd watch Day was a big hit. Another great outing for our great team.
