The Hard Core Zipper

Friday my girlfriend Bonnie turned 40. To celebrate this very important birthday she wanted to do something wild and crazy. Something once in a lifetime. Something she would probably never do again. So she arranged a Zip Lining adventure day through "one axe pursuit" at the Elora Gorge. Well... I couldn't hurt my reputation as "the cool friend from St. Thomas" so I signed up!

The first part of the day was spent repelling. By the forth time I had somewhat mastered bouncing off and down the cliff walls!

After lunch came the Zipping. As I went to jump off the cliff on my first attempt, my feet just wouldn't follow. I needed huge encouragement but finally took the leap (sitting). After that I made true to the Superman shirt I was wearing and flew off the edge 3 more times!

Bonnie branded me with the new nick name. "The Hard Core Zipper."

Words can't really describe the experience but you know me... I'll try.

It was by far the most EXHILARATING, SCARY, RISK-TAKING, FUN, EXCITING, TREMENDOUS, ELATING, THRILLING, INVIGORATING, CRAZY, HEART-STOPPING, BUTTERFLIES IN THE TUMMY, EXTREME, INTENSE, LIFE ALTERING, experience I have ever had.

It was an amazing day with an amazing group of people. Makes me wonder what wild and crazy thing I can arrange for my 40th. The bar has been set extremely high. Hmmmm. I have 3 years to ponder it!

Wow... you had *way* more fun than I did. ;-) I liked it, but it wasn't all that. I much preferred the social aspect of it and hanging out with hard core people like you! *g*

I think I'm having more fun with the memories than I did on the actual day. ;) It was exhausting, but thrilling and overwhelming and terrifying and all that groovy stuff.

Hey Laura, how about a live volcano excursion for your 40th?

Okay, so are you jumping out of a plane for your 40th? How bout deep sea diving with the sharks. I'm happy to watch the discovery channel in surround sound. It really does feel like you are there. You should try it sometime!
