A day out with Laurwa

The Pritchett family just moved into their new house last week and lets just say that things have not gone the smoothest for them. Their house is turned upside down with boxes and bags and half put together furniture. Their stress level over the last little bit has definitely been at it's boiling point. So... I decided that today would be the perfect opportunity to steal their children and play host to "fun day with Laurwa." It would give Anne Marie and Dwayne a chance to get their house looking like a home and was a good excuse for me to live vicariously through their little girls for a day! I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or me!

We started the day at Springbank Park. We enjoyed the play equipment and especially loved cooling off in the wading pool. We had a picnic lunch and fed the leftovers to the ducks. In the afternoon we had an amazing time at the Children's Museum. The kids loved exploring the dinosaur cave and blasting off into outer space! Who an I kidding... so did I. We ended the day with supper at the Pritchett's. Dwayne was quite happy to break out his new BBQing tools. What is it with guys and thier tools?

The kids each have their own very unique personalities.

Andrew is incredibly sensitive. He cares a lot about "his girls" and wants to be bigger than he actually is. What an amazing little boy. He reminds me a lot of my Nicholas. Maybe there is something to be said about being the first born.

Deanna is Diva. She is an adorable little girl with a very strong personality. She is stubborn and feisty and can definitely hold her own. She is her Mommy's girl thru and thru and the qualities I see in her will take her far.

Katie is a little doll. What a little snuggle bug. I could honestly just hold on to her all day long (if she didn't wiggle away). She is feisty but also very agreeable (at least with me). Anne Marie and Dwayne are probably laughing at that comment. I love how she says my name. It makes me melt. "LaurWa".

Then there is my Jacob. A little bossy. A little pushy. Not very aggreable. He doesn't fair well when he doesn't get his way but he is definitely the apple of my eye. All he wants is to have fun, be included and make sure that everyone else is having fun too.

Nicholas is getting so big. He actually didn't tag along with us today, he was at his cousins house. We picked him up to join the fun for supper time. Although he acts annoyed by the little ones at times, he loves being the big kid. He led the brigade at the Pritchett's house and had them following his every move. Right down to the custom eggless hamburger buns! The kids loved playing school and Nick loved playing the teacher cause you have to listen to the teacher, right!?! He really is a great kid with a great big heart!

Anne Marie and Dwayne made some headway with the mounds of boxes while the kids were "having fun with Laurwa" and thier new house really is shaping out to be their new home. A Beautiful Home for a Beautiful Family. Officially signed as such by The Ferwerda Four in the Guest Book that adorns their front entrance!
