Unwelcomed Guests

Unwelcomed guests have decided to make themselves at home at The Ferwerda Fours. They are black and crawly and all over our basement. Ants.

Yesterday, my "day off", we cleaned the house from top to bottom. Jacob, armed with a bottle of windex and a roll of paper towel went to work on every inch of squirtable square footage.




I soon realized why we had a colony of ants living in our basement... they were picnicking under the couch. The feast included cheerios, the ends of freezie wrappers, fruitloops, candy wrappers and oreo cookies with the icing licked off. Yummy!


After our thorough cleaning job and 2 boxes of Ant Traps placed in every corner of the room, I think our guests have finally left.


Lesson learned... Always move furniture when vacuuming and watch your children a little closer when Oreo cookies are the snack of choice.
