Forgot to Go

"You better try to go pee before we leave because we aren't stopping for a while." That was my Dad's voice before we hopped in the car to head North. When I was a kid this annoyed me but now that I am in my 30's I totally get it.
It's funny how being a Mom and working at Starwood has trained my bladder to be the strength of steal. Maybe it also has something to do with the long drives Up North where we wouldn't dare say we had to go; especially in the middle of rush hour traffic on a holiday weekend on Highway 400. Whatever the reasoning, today was yet another day where I simply forgot to go. I was at work. Going to the bathroom there can be a scary thing. Not only do I get performance anxiety but I have to dodge the agents wanting to carry on their lifetime stories through the walls of the stalls. It wasn't until I hopped in the car at 5:00 pm that I realized that I had not made a trip to bathroom since 5:45 that morning.
Who has time to go? It's amazing how we tend to forget to do the little important things in life. I should really take my father's advice and visit the bathroom before heading up to bed. Once I'm snuggled in under my covers, I don't plan on getting up for a while.

Your poor kidneys! You really need to go more often or you might turn into that "gotta go, gotta go right now" lady from those annoying American commercials for some bladder-blocking medication that has so many side effects that the announcer runs out of time to list them all.

Okay, now I gotta go...
